Into the Deep

Into the Deep was our fourth year as an FTC team.
Our robot for our fourth year truly exemplified our belief that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. We maintained variations of our initial gripper design, adding features like vision and a differential wrist. Using this simple but elegant design, we were able to advance to States.
Center Stage
Center Stage was our third year as an FTC team.
Centerstage was our third season as an FTC team. It was an exciting competition, with the main scoring element being hexagonal pixels. Teams needed to drop the pixels onto a black backboard, earning teams points. Teams could also score a paper airplane nicknamed a “drone” in the endgame, as well as hang on the truss that cut the field in half. We were able to create a telescoping arm with a twelve-sided gripper, allowing us to pick up these pixels in any orientation and dropping it on the backboard. It was the year we started our annual FLL Open Invitational, with over forty teams coming and attending the event. We also continued our yearly tradition of the food truck, serving free food to anyone in need in the U District. We helped mentor many teams while spreading the goal of FIRST to many schools in the Washington area. It was overall a very fun and challenging season!
